It came in through a door or window left opened, you must have left it open thinking nothing could penetrate the strong walls you built...It eventually took your life, back then no one suspected it, believing the death was caused by natural causes. Your death was deemed a heart attack.
At the time your family and friends were baffled. Why would they not be? You were taking your medications and walking at least 4 miles a day.
Perhaps you came across the silent killer along one of those walks, for one of your neighbors did notice a drastic change in your presence and recommended you go see a doctor.
You were no longer the friendly talkative upbeat neighbor. They told us you were struggling to even walk or talk.
That would be the last time your neighbor or any of the people you would normally greet on your long walks would see you. You went into your space, surrounded by the walls you built not knowing that they had already been penetrated by your killer...the one that came in with a relentless vengeance…and had no plans of leaving...until it took your life.
Unknowingly you made sure you contained the killer, you stayed inside, not spreading it to those you loved and cared about.
Amazing, how you always wanted to make a difference in the world and you did! You changed and saved a small part of the world. You saved your friends and neighbors by isolating yourself.
I always saw your unique ability to see the future. I saw it as a gift. In the end you proved it!
You passed on January 23,2020, and your death was deemed a heart attack. At that time COVID 19 was quietly ravaging the United States. Shortly after your death, news of COVID 19, the novel deadly virus dominated the news.
I can’t help but wonder if your death was one of the first…this we’ll never know...for your children decided on cremation so that they could take your ashes to Russia, the country you longed to visit.
It frustrates and angers me that the government kept this vital information from us, something which was available to them in November 2019...releasing could have saved many lives.
The administration knew that the virus was deadly, but they did not care about who died or who was next....it was killing the elderly, the poor and people of color.
Believing that they were not vulnerable...they played games with the lives of those who were.
My daughter and grandson were diagnosed with the disease on December 1, 2020. She is in her thirties, and he is only seven. Then shortly after, I was diagnosed with COVID-19. I’m sixty- seven do you can only imagine the fear and worry the entire family experienced. The question…would they lose both parents in 2020 ran through my children’s mind until I became a survivor.
Presently, the virus which was deemed China’s problem and not ours has taken the lives of more than 500,000 US citizens. Obviously, the virus is everyone’s problem.
My hope is that this nightmare ends shortly, but most importantly that we learned that we live in a world where we are all interconnected so we must work together to survive!
