My Geography Teacher

My Geography Teacher

"I was a migrant worker from the age of seven until  I was fifteen.  The days were long, I worked from sunrise to sunset during the summers. Sometimes I was too tired to get up in the mornings.  I hated summers. When I was fifteen my Geography teacher hired me to work in a summer school program he directed.

“While my Geography teacher managed to get me out of the fields and into the classroom , I knew that teaching was not my calling . But I learned that patience is an important virtue…a virtue I was gifted with and could use in all aspects of life”.
