My Second Mt Baldy Summit
As a pacer for ARC, I participated in many running, hike or walk adventures.
After my first Mt Baldy Summit, I guess the powers that be considered me a semi-pro and asked me to help lead a group in their first attempt to summit Mt. Baldy.
I helped lead the group along the Ski Hut trail which to me was slightly less challenging and much less treacherous than The Devil’s Backbone Trail which is very popular, but it is very narrow and slippery. Its unique appearance actually looks like a very narrow spine…so the name is very appropriate.
My team mate and I successfully lead the newbies, although it took longer than expected. We had to stop and wait for them to catch up, but we all persevered and made to the top of the mountain...and the elevation 10,064 Feet.
While I was hesitant to accept this task, I was glad I was able to share this experience with others These were my friends to whom I had spoken to about how I enjoyed the first time I summited Mt. Baldy. They were so trilled and could now share their experience with others.
The scenery and the climb are breathe taking both physically and mentally. The captivating views will forever remain etched within.
As customary., celebrating a major milestone, we rested, ate a snack, took pictures and enjoyed the view before heading back to the starting point.
