OTHTC-Trophy

OTHTC-Trophy

 Patti & Miguel

The hills were always a challenge for me, but you both made it look so easy. I confess, at times I was a bit jealous. That never lasted much because I had to compose myself and at least pretend that the hills did not bother me.

At times you were Miguel’s rabbit and then the roles were switched.  I’m not sure who was competing with whom, or if there was a competition. One thing for sure is that I could tell that you both loved to run.  To see you running together was inspiring.  You are a very strong team, husband and wife, “sole” mates indeed.

You both inspired me to run to Hollywood Sign many times with the GPNR.  Although my speed could hardly match yours, your words of encouragement would always remind me that we were in this together, and finish together we did.

I will always remember OTHTC, my first trail race.  I did not see the marker to turn and kept going the wrong way.  That day, had it not been for you and Miguel looking out for the runner known for getting lost, I would have not come home with the beautiful trophy which I earned for placing 2nd in my division.

When I look at this trophy, I think of you both, beautiful angels looking out for me and making sure I arrived at my destination safe and sound.

This trophy is a constant reminder that I am who I am because of the beautiful people “Angels” who were placed in my path and helped me arrive where I am today.

You’ve inspired me in your special way and encourage me to never give up hope. Now it’s my obligation to inspire and give hope to those who may feel alone…for they are not alone!
